It SNOWED here in Colorado last night!
 April 27th.
I want to be angry about this, but instead I'm reminiscing about my week in NY with J. and our late afternoon breakfast at the Clinton Street Baking Company on the lower East side.
I've always wanted to eat a brunch at Clinton Street Bakery (their pancakes are very famous!), however, while living and working full time in NY, the only possible day I could make it down to the lower East side for brunch was either Saturday or Sunday. And in less you are prepared to spend a good chunk of your morning waiting in line outside this tiny restaurant, you are better off finding another location for brunch on the weekends.

In fact, I debated whether or not we should skip Clinton Street and just eat at Frankie's 17, another beautiful restaurant on the same street. Ashley and Aron claim that Frankie's serves the best french toast in the city, and recommend the restaurant as their favorite place for brunch! The pictures and description on their blog, Hither and Thither, make this place look soooo tempting, that I was torn between eating at Clinton Street Bakery or Frankie's 17 right up until the very last minute. J. suggested we check out the wait at Clinton Street first. The restaurant was busy, but we were able to walk right in and get a table (which truly never happens!). So I decided that we should take advantage of the opportunity and get the pancakes (and yes, they were the best pancakes I've ever had). We also tried the french toast, AND ordered a root beer float and a black and white milk shake! It was wonderful, yet I'm still looking forward to the day when we can try the brunch at Frankie's 17.
