Above are some photos of a recent weekend trip to Busan, South Korea in August (I can't believe it's September! When did that happen?!). I intended to blog these photos much, much earlier and maybe split them up into a couple of posts, with details about our weekend there. However, work and life has gotten the better of me. Hopefully, I can be a bit more consistent starting this month!! :)

Busan is just a quick train ride away from Seoul. Between a Saturday-Sunday, we managed to see everything we wanted to see, cramming both days full exploring the coastline, the famous Hyundae Beach with its colorful umbrellas, the Jagalchi Fish Market (Korea's second largest fish market), and the Yonggungsa Seaside Temple. The houses and buildings along the coast were very different from anything I've seen in Korea so far. The atmosphere was much quieter and more relaxed than Seoul. We could see glimpses of the blue ocean between houses. In some ways, it was what I imagine Greece to look like. The fish market was huge, fascinating and colorful. There are no words to really describe the temple experience. As we hiked down to the temple, which is literally just tucked into the seaside, we were greeted with chanting from the monks conducting a nearby service. The temple itself was so overwhelmingly ornate, and the beauty of the surrounding ocean really took my breath away! It was quite the experience and one I'd highly recommend to anyone visiting Busan!

Wow, it looks incredible!!! Sooo picturesque and serene. The ROK is such a fun place to get lost in adventure.
